Begin with two planetary jobs
Name what each planet does before interpreting the angle between them. The Moon regulates feeling, Mercury organizes perception, Venus evaluates and relates, and Mars pursues and defends. An aspect describes how those jobs exchange energy.
If the planetary functions remain vague, the aspect interpretation will become a list of generic adjectives.
Understand the five major aspects
A conjunction concentrates, a sextile offers cooperative opportunity, a square creates friction requiring action, a trine supports flow, and an opposition presents a polarity that must be held in awareness.
No aspect has only one outcome. Squares can build capability, while trines can remain unconscious or overused.
Use orb and condition
Orb is the distance from exactness. A contact one degree from exact usually carries more concentrated emphasis than the same aspect seven degrees away, though traditions apply different limits by planet and technique.
Also consider sign, house, angularity, dignity, sect, speed, and whether the aspect is applying or separating. These factors keep interpretation proportional.
Turn keywords into a process
Ask what triggers the aspect, which planet responds first, what the repeated sequence costs, and which behavior lets both functions participate. This transforms symbolism into an observable pattern.
Finish by checking whether a third planet forms a larger configuration such as a T-square or grand trine.
